1970’s Vintage Chicago Schwinn Road Frameset with Crank, Headset, and Seat Post Included Up for sale is a nice 1970’s vintage Chicago Schwinn road frame set. Fillet welded Schwinn carbon steel frame with tubular steel fork with forged dropouts. Braze-on top tube and down tube cable stops. Schwinn forged diamond style heat treated steel crank with Schwinn 52/39T steel chainrings with chain guard, (cranks will be shipped un-installed). 1” threaded steel headset has been cleaned and greased – ready for years of service.  Sale includes pillar style seat post, and binder collar with bolt. From the serial number this appears to be a 1973 model and the frame itself has a bears a “Traveler” decal. However the Traveler does not seem to have been made that year. The frame appears to have been re-painted at some point and perhaps the “Traveler” decals installed at that time. As best I can tell this is a 1973 “Super Sport”- but someone with a better knowledge of old Schwinn might know better. At any rate this frame would a great platform for a college bike, retro-urban commuter, or a single speed build. This frame is in good structural condition, with good alignment, and no dents and bents. The paint and graphics are in pretty tough condition. A pretty even coverage of nicks, scuffs and scrapes from normal use, and a bit of rust , please see pictures. Overall I would rate the appearance a 6 out of 10.
